One on One Individual Therapy
“One of the greatest regrets in life is being what others would want you to be, rather than being yourself.” Shannon L. AlderInvesting in yourself is one of the best ways to have a better quality of life. Our therapists will work with you in addressing a wide spectrum of individual issues such as personal growth, codependency, depression, trauma, anxiety, addiction recovery, grief & loss, relationship problems, and spiritual abuse or issues. All of our therapists use Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT).
"New beginnings start with knowing how we create the trap that we are caught in, how we have deprived ourselves of the love we need. Strong bonds grow from resolving to halt the cycles of disconnection, the dances of distress.” Sue JohnsonEvery couple has disagreements from time to time. What we do with those disagreements makes a difference. In couples therapy, couples learn to identify repetitive negative patterns and develop new ways of positive connection that increases intimacy, security, and strong bonds of love between them. Couples report improved communication, trust, emotional and physical intimacy, and more effective parenting. All of our therapists are trained in and use Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.
“One of the greatest regrets in life is being what others would want you to be, rather than being yourself.” Shannon L. AlderHaving a successful marriage takes a lot of work. Invest in pre-marital therapy before you say, “I do” to explore how each of you were shaped individually and help you to become a great team. Together, we will look at family histories, communication styles, finances, values, relational patterns, careers, and future family vision. We offer a 6-session package that will help you address challenges you might encounter in your marriage. This includes the Prepare & Enrich assessment tool, a conversation inventory, as well as sessions with a therapist to help you start out on the right foot in having the marriage you desire.
Family isn’t about sharing the same genetics, that’s being related. Family is when you love someone to death, and you would do anything for them, you trust them, take care of them, and in return they do the same. It’s the type of bond you hold together. The reality is every family has issues. Many times, when family dynamics become difficult, it can be hard to make changes without assistance. Whether the difficulty is from a life transition, patterns of problematic behavior, or inability to communicate, we come alongside your family to help. We work to identify the patterns that are causing problems, work to establish better communication, cooperation, and growth, and assist in resolving conflicts. In the long term, this work creates new healthier family dynamics. All of our therapists use the Emotionally Focused Family Therapy model.
TelemedicineSince the COVID-19 pandemic I have been doing only TeleMedicine Therapy. I do TeleMedicine (electronic) using Zoom USA. When I started doing therapy through TeleMedicine Zoom calls, I was skeptical that it could be as effective as in-person psychotherapy. I found that it is just as effective, just different. Now I do all TeleMedicine and most clients prefer it. Our Zoom sessions are private, confidential, and HIPAA Compliant. Please talk to me if you have any questions regarding TeleMedicine.
“You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” ― C.S. Lewis.Through pastoral counseling from a distinctly Christian worldview, I address the needs of individuals, couples, and families. I use an approach that integrates sound psychological principles with spiritual insight from the Bible. Prayer and scripture are an integral part of all of our pastoral counseling.
